Why choose Castle?
What does Castle do to deal with the frost heave/thaw cycle in Edmonton?
We install a ⅛” steel cable into most* of our curbing projects. This helps to keep the curb together instead of parts of it rising and falling by different amounts. This will protect the concrete and the aesthetics of your curb.
We also include various concrete additives that support the concrete depending on the season, install location, and requirements
What is involved in booking a job?
First, contact us and we will schedule a design consultation and estimate. This will take about 30 minutes. After the design has been discussed and approved, we will schedule the date and time that we will show up and complete your project.
How long does a job usually take?
This will depend on the length of curb we are installing. In general, about 100 linear feet of curb takes us 4-6 hours to complete.
What happens if it rains?
Often we will need to postpone the project. Although concrete does need moisture to cure properly, the actual rain drops will dilute the color of the curb and cause pock marks on the surface of the curb. If we experience rain or harsh weather (high winds) we will stay in touch regarding rescheduling a time to complete your project. We will stay in communication but we do very much appreciate your patience and understanding.
What happens if there is an issue with the curb?
We stand by our workmanship and product. If there is an issue, we will make it right! However, our goal is 100% customer satisfaction, the first time!
Will the install of curbing impact my current landscaping?
Does landscape curbing reduce maintenance?
Yes it does! It is much easier to mow around. It will stay in place much better than individual bricks, stones, etc. It will keep material (mulch, rocks, grass, etc.) in the right place so you are not constantly cleaning up those areas.
What do I need to do before Castle shows up to install your curbs?
Is there a minimum cost or length?
Yes. We can only complete projects of a minimum of 75 linear feet.
Will you leave a mess when you are done?
How does Castle make sure the concrete lasts?
